CEICSEM and SU conducted training for university teachers
In the period June 22-24, 2022, in the city of Sofia, Art Hotel Simona. The Center for Educational Integration of Children and Students from Ethnic Minorities (CEICSEM) in partnership with Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" organized and held a three-day training for university professors. The training was organized and conducted within the framework of Activity 4.3 "Training of trainers of university teachers" under project BGLD-2.002-0001 "Building capacity for educational and social inclusion", financed under the Program "Local development, poverty reduction and improved inclusion of vulnerable groups" of the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021.
The participants underwent training in accordance with the prepared "Training framework for university teachers from the Faculties of Pedagogy for training/specialized training of pedagogical specialists for work with vulnerable groups in the conditions of a multi-ethnic and multicultural educational environment" and a training program attached to it with main lecturers prof. dpn Siika Chavdarova-Kostova, Prof. Dr. Plamen Makariev and Associate Professor Dr. Yosif Nunev. As part of the training, the participants also received training on the project-prepared training package "Prevention and protection from forms of discrimination" and a specialized training module "Monitoring and actions against hate speech, anti-Gypsyism and misinformation in social networks."
The purpose of the activity and in accordance with the prepared training frameworks is to conceptualize intercultural education among academic circles and to establish the intercultural perspective as a foundation in the preparation of future pedagogical specialists and in the teaching process in universities in Bulgaria.
